Raja was not only a mother to her family but also to her nieces and nephews. She loved preparing apple and lemon cakes for children and relatives and was skilled in making them. As for her husband, Mahmoud Dib Alkhayyat, he was a well-known doctor in Rafah who cared little about money when it came to treating the poor and needy. He was a kind-hearted doctor known for his beautiful smile.
لم تكن رجاء أما لعائلتها فحسب، بل كانت أيضا أما لبنات وأبناء إخوتها. كانت تحب إعداد كعك التفاح والليمون للأطفال والأقارب وكانت ماهرة في صنعها. أما بالنسبة لزوجها، محمود ديب الخياط، فقد كان طبيبا معروفا في رفح لا يهتم كثيرا بالمال عندما يتعلق الأمر بعلاج الفقراء والمحتاجين. كان طبيبا طيب القلب معروفا بابتسامته الجميلة.
