Martyr Omar Abu Sha’weesh was a prominent poet, writer, and social activist with various contributions in the social, youth, cultural, and intellectual spheres. He received numerous international awards in the fields of culture and literature and was known for his purity and beauty of character.
On the morning of October 7th, Omar, as usual, went out for the Fajr prayer at the mosque and to engage in his routine jogging. Unfortunately, a Zionist missile struck him, ending his life and dreams.
Omar had various poetry collections and literary articles, including the novel “Under Death’s Grip,” where he expressed, “Everyone in Gaza is now awaiting the decisive moment; everyone is under the grip of death.”
Date of martyrdom: October 7, 2023.

شاعر وكاتب وناشط مجتمعي بارز له إسهامات مختلفة على الصعيد المجتمعي والشبابي والثقافي والفكري، حصل على العديد من الجوائز الدولية والعالمية في مجال الثقافة والأدب، كان من أنقى الناس وأجملهم.
في صباح السابع من أكتوبر خرج عمر كعادته لصلاة الفجر في المسجد وممارسة رياضة الركض، لِيُصيبه صاروخ صهيوني غادر أنهى حياته وأحلامه.
كان لِعمر العديد من المجموعات الشعرية والمقالات الأدبية منها رواية “على قيد الموت” والتي قال فيها: “الكل في غزة أصبح بانتظار اللحظة الحاسمة، الجميع أصبح على قيد الموت.”
